Goatsuckers
From Birding Wiki
Goatsuckers gained their name from the old Medeival belief that they fed by sucking the milk from Goats. Of course these birds are simply nocturnal insectivores and don't feed in such an exotic manner. Whip-poor-will and Chuck-will's-widow, both named for their "song", are found strictly as migrants through the city. However both breed in appropriate habitat regionally. Common Nighthawk both migrates through the city and also breeds there, nesting on roofs. Common Nighthawks can be seen after dark hunting insects over (e.g.) Yankee Stadium or in some years over Central Park
